Advice please Door Ajar.. toogle switch
This weekend I tapped into the fuse box
1 removed the fuse drilled a small hole in the fuse to kill it.
2 replaced the fuse with tabs.. the dead fuse holds the tabs in place more securely.
3 connected wire to the tabs
4 installed a toggle switch to wires (with Fuse)
Now when I shut of the Ex. I flip the toggle switch so the dome, running board lights etc go out.
Could using the toggle to turn on and off the dome lights etc. damage the electrical system?
(This fuse I believe it is slot 13 or 14) Controls the power windows, the inside lights, running lights, ability to put the Ex into Drive (steering Column).
Thanks For any and all help. I don't want to create another problem...Like burning out some crazy sensor and rendering my Ex useless.

The real problem is when I open the door... the dome lights and running board lights stay on for 20-30 mins. When you go into the Ex a few times a day without running it the lights drain the battery. I have had to charge the battery a couple of times over the past year or so.
My easy solution was to toggle switch the fuse that controls that function. After I drive the Ex I can flick the switch off (kill the Circuit) and the dome and running lights turn off. This also disables the power windows and disables the ability to pull the gear shift level out of park. ...Start the Ex flick... the toggle (restore the circuit) dome light running board lights work.. enables power windows and the gear shift lever can now be moved into drive etc.
I have a concern that by using the toggle switch I possible may cause another problem? Could I be disabling a system that needs a constant supply of power? and can I damage anything by doing this?? If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Perryg114 for your response!
