I look forward to seeing your truck! What is unique about a Sportsman Edition?
I picked up a pickup myself. 08 Lariat 4x4 Crew w/ six ft bed. Bought it in Florida, and there it's hard to find a 4x4.
Bdox...Actually, I'm not sure what's special about it. I'm trying to hunt that info down. From my understanding from a few others, it sounds like it was a "dealer option". I know it has a fancy "Sportsman edition" decal on both sides of the bed, but that's all I know for now. LOL
The hard part is I'm going to have to try and hunt down what dealer did the option when they sold the truck and I have no idea on how to go about doing that yet.
Congrats on your new truck. Sounds very nice! I got to take my truck through the mountains the other day and it performed beautifully. I'm thrilled! My last truck would labor (Dakota w/V6) through the mountains and up the hills and that was without it loaded. My F-150 (4.6L V8) went through with no issues. I'm definitely happy now!
Must be nice that everyone is enjoying their Friday..my "Friday" really doesn't come until Sat. (pout). LOL
Ha! I had a 1994 Dakota. It was "loaded" and had the 5.2L V-8. But it was slow so I can't imagine what their six cyl must be like! I got rid of it after six months because the brakes were weak with no load. On a couple of occasions, I towed a small travel trailer with it and it was lame. Once put a heavy load in the bed, a pallet of rock, and I was forced to slow down to about twenty coming down a mountain because I was afraid the brakes were going to fail me completely!
Happy Friday! The holiday's next week Bruce, Veteran's (or used to be Armistice) day on the 11th. So I have the end of next week off.
I'm not all that impressed with the Triton V8 in my work truck, it can't seem to get out of it's own way sometimes. It's probably not fair to compare it to the supercharged V10 though.

Mine was a 94 as well. LOL I didn't realize how crappy the brakes were until the first time I drove it in the rain and it felt like the brakes were sliding or giving way when I used them. Unfortunately I couldn't afford another car/truck at the time, so I kept it for like 5 years.
As for brakes, my F-150 brakes feel more solid and give better pedal feel than my 96 Cobra did! LOL So, I love the brakes on this thing and, in general, it just feels solid all around. Very nice.
well, I don't think the Triton V8 (at least the 4.6L) is all that wonderful, but it does the job, so far. But then again, I'm comparing it to the DOHC 4.6L that was in my Cobra. Huuuugggeeee difference! LOL I wish I could have dropped that motor into this truck. However, that motor had no torque what so ever. It was all HP. So, wouldn't do very well for a truck to haul things in.
But, like I said, I'm not complaining. It's much better than my Dakota's V6 was and worlds better than the 4 cyl in my wife's Camry. LOL
Well...my weekend will start at midnight, but I guess it's still a weekend! LOL
I hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous day outside. I soooo wish I was out there! Wouldn't even mind taking the truck for a drive through the canyons if I was not workin'! But I think taking the race bike through the canyons would be more fun.
