Headers for a 351C???? Anyone know where???

Hey guys,

Sorry to post in multiple forums, i thought somone here might hav a better idea.

I am wanting headers to fit a 351C in a Ford F100. The problem i
am having is, although in the USA they stopped putting the 351C in
trucks after 1974, they continued to use that engine in Australian
trucks until 1988 and therefore finding suitable headers has been an
issue. To clarify, they used the standard 351C not a M400 (a 400 block de-strocked with a 351C crank).

I am pretty sure the 351C and M400 would have different bolt patterns/heads, but im now sure. Can anyone confirm??

To reduce the chances of fitmint being an issue, i thought a set
of generic shorty headers like would do the job just fine. But i am having trouble finding any shorty headers at all that fit a 351C

Here is some i was looking at but i think they are to suit the M400 aswell :S
The Sanderson FC4 header set fits Ford Cleveland/Midland engines in 1969-73 Ford Mustang.

HELP!

No 351C was factory installed in any F100/350. 1970/74 Passenger Cars/Ranchero's only.

351M/400 installed in 1977/79 F100/350's, 1980/82 F150/350's (1978/82 Bronco's & 1980/82 Econolines).

351W introduced in 1981 F150/350's & Bronco's (Econolines offered it beginning in 1975).

The largest V8 offered in 1980/83 F100's was the 302.

351M: The M refers to modified. There was no engine assembly plant in Midland TX or otherwise.

The 400 is not refered to as an M.

Ok, fair enough, Australian trucks were produced with 351C stock.
Are the heads on a 351M/400 the same as the 351C? Are the header bolt patterns the same?

351C heads are not the same as any 351M. Not the same as a 400 either.

The 351M was a smogged up terd of an engine first installed in 1975 Passenger Cars (used thru 1979-cars). The heads were very prone to cracking, usually occuring after the vehicles were out of warranty, PO'ing many owners.

351M/400

Isn't the 351M a 400 with shortstroke crankshaft? Same heads, intake, accessories, etc. ? Much like a 360/390.

Yes but the 351C is the engine in question.

Cleveland heads are cleveland heads. They don't match up to anything else.

If you can weld you can build a set of headers pretty cheep.

There has to be a set of headers out there somewhere. Headman makes them for everything. I would go on summitracing.com and get some names of manufactures and go to there websites and contact them if you can't find anything.
