Water Pump question

Ok, so I'm finally getting around to the end of my rebuild on my 302, and have one question as to the 2 small hose nipples coming from the water pump. I've read those are for the heating system, but I don't have a fan/heating system in my truck. So, would I be able to block one or both of those off and not have any problems? Or do I block one off and run the other to somewhere that I don't know about?

This is a 1986 302 with a driver side exit pump.

You can just run a short hose from one to the other. I don't think it's a good idea to block either one.

On my 302 one of those hooks to the thermostat housing and the other runs to the heater core. The other side of the heater core is hooked to a fitting on top of the intake manifold. So if I were to bypass my heater I'd be running the hose from one of the fittings on the water pump to the fitting on the intake manifold. I see this thread is about two weeks old so you may have already hooked it up, and/or your engine possibly didn't have the fitting on the thermostat housing for the little short hose to run right to the water pump.
