I know i have 4.10 gears and a dana 50 front cause it is stamped on it but i am pretty sure i have a steriling rear axle what are some ways to tell also i know i have a limited slip in the rear so i do i have a limited slip in the front diff also? Also how much fluid would both take i am pretty sure it is 80w 90 gear oil is this correct and how much friction modifier do i need? the truck is a 1995 f250 5.8 with manual locking hubs
the front will not be limited slip.
The friction modifier would depend on what brand name you got.
the one i had i put in the whole bottle. I noticed zero difference.
I forget how much fluid...~3 quarts or so for the rear. IIRC.
Diff fluid i think i used synthetic 75-140?? but OEM issue fluid is likely 80-90.
I just changed out my rusty dana 60 rear cover yesterday and I had to put in 4 quarts of 80w 90. If you have a owners manual its all in there, or most of it.
