Just hit 214,000 on my ole 94 yesterday. Still going strong!

 

213,000 on my black 97 super cab 4.0 4x4 5 speed....best timber cutter truck ever!!!

 

Turned over 230,000 the other day on my 1998 4.0 4x4 5 speed extra cab. Running strong! I'd head out across the country in a minute.

UPDATE: This weekend, my '94 rolled up to 308.4K miles.

-- I had another stone hit & cracked my windshield. - DANG IT! The stone hit at the base of the glass, but the crack is growing up into my line of sight....

Work at a shop that does maintenance for a car parts stores fleet of delivery trucks. They have an 07 4 cyl with 987k on it.

 

see signature: 130K fueled, 1300 electric.

 

223,000 97 2.3 5spd second owner bought it when it had maybe 30,000.

 

2.5 L 1998..... 296,000 lucas oil treatment every 3000

 

Just recently surpassed 400,000 miles...

'83 Ranger w/2.2L Perkins diesel (factory)

Rotella T 15w40 and WIX filters every 3,000 miles.

 

I have a 98 I bought new with 258,000 on the clock. I have the 4.0 OHV. I've had the heads off twice. Last time was at 248,000 and could still see a little crosshatch in the cylinder walls. I have replaced both heads (cracked between the intake and exhaust valves in the combustion chambers), But other than that, It'been a great truck. I plan on rebuilding the motor at 300,000 and adding some goodies at that point, increase compression , aftermarket heads or some porting work, 24 lb injectors, cam, headers, etc. Want to see if I can get 250 hp and 300 lbs of torque.

"The Ranger was introduced in mid-1982 for the 1983 model year and had an available 4-cylinder 59 hp 2.2 L Mazda/Perkins diesel. In 1985, a Mitsubishi-built 2.3 L turbodiesel with 86 hp replaced the Mazda diesel engine. The diesels were no longer an option after 1987. These Rangers are rare now, but a few seem to be showing up now on ebay and other classifieds (2008) likely due to the high gas prices and need for better fuel economy."

Diesel Rangers haven't been available in over 25yrs. (at least in the U.S.)

With gas prices what they are I think Ford would do pretty well if they reintroduced the diesel Ranger.
