White smoke
i have a 05 6.0 powerstroke that just started bellowing white smoke. The coolant level was down a gallon and a half. Would it safe to drive it to the dealer. ( about 6 miles )

Sounds kind of like the EGR cooler went south. I think you would be ok driving it straight there, but others may disagree with the risk of hydrolocking.

Last week my 03 F-350 had white smoke coming from exhaust. after the trip to the dealer, Iwas told the EGR cooler had gone out along with the oil cooler. Last but not least the turbo charger was leaking oil through to the exhast system. S o after $3,600.00 in repairs the truck run great. But I was also told at the service counter, that ford has had quiet a few problems in these areas with the 6.0 diesel. My truck has 90 k miles on it. So hopefully this will be last of the problems for a while.
