Ok, guys, this may take input from folks here as well as the F-series forum unless someone here knows.
Swapping '92 4.9L (300) into a '93. The 4.9 was dropped from the Bronco line at the end of 92 but remained in the F-series. My question: Did the 4.9 get the new alternator in the F-series in 93? The alternator in the Bronco changed on the V8's but since there is no 4.9 in a '93 Bronco to use as a point of reference, the F-series would be the only place to find out.
I would rather keep the new style alt. in the Bronco after the 4.9 swap. It boils down to whether or not I can get a mounting bracket for the newer alternator that fits the 4.9 or whether I have to put on my fabrication hat and make one.
Thanks to any one and everyone who might give me some insight.
The 4.9 in the F-series got the new 3g alt starting in 1995. It has the normal straight up and down mounting holes compared to the early style offset mount holes.
