I have a 2003 F250 6.0 liter with a steering box that went south on me. It looks like the only way to get it out is from the bottom. I've never replaced one before, is there any advice and/or steps to take in order to get it out? Also, im worried about the alignment, is this better left to a professional shop, or can I R&R the box and take it down to get realigned? Im Thinking of the savings of course by replacing it myself.
Yeah, i took a look at the link, money is tight right now, im still in the process of gathering the money together to address the FICM injector problem. So im going to have to get the oem part. I was pulling out of the driveway and the brake pedal had a vibration, as well as the steering wheel. when I got out to investigate there was Power steering fluid everywhere. coming from a bolt on the pump itself.
Ive owned fords all my life, trucks and SUVs, with hardly any issues. This super duty is my first, and has given me nothing but problems. Must have just got an oddball of the bunch.
