trans temp gauge?
anyone have a good recomondation for a trans temp gauge that screws into the side of the trans? digital?-analog? and where did you install yours? thanks.

I installed Auto Meter Phantom gauges in mine. The trans temp is part number 5757 and is an electrical gauge. They don't match the factory gauges so if that's important to you, you'll want to choose a different series of Auto Meter gauges, but the sender should be the same.
The sender fit right into the test port on the side of the transmission. There was a plug in there originally and the sender fits in the same place.

i put a stewart warner in my 94' plow truck, it cost about 55$ give or take. its a electrical analog gauge, put the sender right into the line pressure test port on the trans, works great. i bought it from summit racing, they are great folks to do business with and ship out quickly. i wouldent waste any time with an el cheapo gauge, go with high quality (auto meter,stewart warner,vdo) a few quality gauges off the top of my head

Most of my gauges are Autometer, including my trans temp. However everyone on here was saying how decent glow-shift gauges were, I was VERY skeptical, thinking they were a cheap ricer gauge. I bought a couple of them for the heck of it, as they are about 1/4 the cost of autometer and have benn TOTALLY happy. I'm even considering ditching the autometer and going with all glow shift so everything matches. An autometer fuel press. gauge was about $180, got the glow shift with a pod and adapter for like $65 shipped.
