127000 and falling flat
Hey all
been a while I have a problem My 99 sd 5.4 I have been told is loosing compression. My ebrake is not working anymore and if I am parked on any type of incline my truck creeps forward. I live in the catskill Mt. so to find a flat surface sucks. It Is a manuel trany 5 speed.
Does anyone have any reasons that this could be happening besides compression lose?

Never thought of that I would have to say it is the clutch first because I have a funny noise if I push the clutch in all the way to the floor

Park with it in Reverse. That is usually the best gear, or granny low. If your e-brake is bad then get it repaired.
Diagnose where it does not work. Does it engage? Most likely since you live in the salt part of the country it is rusted somewhere.

I know why the ebrake does not work it is just plane worn out every thing works except the worn out pads.
the truck even moves in low or reverse if it is on a steep enough incline. If I can get a weekend off In the next 2 or so weeks I am planning to do all the brakes. I think I would rather have it be the clutch then a compression problem just sounds cheaper and easier. Either way I have to fix it. I have big plans this tax season for the old girl I am planning on going through her from front to back and freshening her up bushings, bearings, shocks, what ever it needs to make it new again
