Camper Special's came from the factory with a pigtailed wire harness/plug that was used for camper lights. It was placed inside the glovebox at final assembly.

This harness plugged into a feed wire/plug that was part of the taillamp harness, that only Camper Special's came with (the only way one a these trucks can be proven to be a real Camper Special).

But, thru 1972, the pigtailed harness/plug was not available from Ford, it only came with the truck from the factory. If it was lost, the owner was SOL.

Someone asked me a coupla days ago for one a these for his 1969. I had to tell him the same thing I told a customer in 1968 = not available from Ford.

The customer was PO'd, said he'd write to Henry Ford. Being a wisenheimer, I told him Henry died in 1947.

bill thanks for your reply, did it have a part number !!,damm looks like i will have to make a special plug,i hate butchering looms especially after its been kept original so long,i think i will make a compleat new loom to run along the original one, using modern type connectors,i really would like to use 1960 type fittings if possible any idea where i can early ford bullet connectors and the bullets for soldering also any original type plugs and sockets part number would be nice, also a quick question do all the stainless side trim just pop off over there retainers or is there a special tool to aid removal, thanks
gary

No part number because it was only available from the factory on new trucks.
