K guys here it goes. My truck started running real bad seemed like it was missing and surging so i got it scanned EGR code ok so i replaced it. Runs a little better but not the way it did, so i replaced the cop's and plugs, pcv valve and fuel filter. Still runs ok but not great. Jumped in it today and i had to coax it to start weak battery. So did you think that a weak battery could be my problem. Oh yea checked all the fuses and vaccum lines.
from what i was told the egr was bad they didnt give me a code. and yes it idels a little rough at start up when cold then evens out stumbles at cruising speed but i can make it stop by letting off the gas the get back on it slowly. stumbles when i get on it but seems to even out.
Have you checked full pressure? When as the last time you cleaned the MAF? Also you said you replaced all the COPs (the whole COP or just the boots) and plugs but with what brand? Did you scan for pending codes?
have not checked the fuel pressure. did not clean the maf and replaced the whole cop ummmmm **** don't remember which brand. and yes come to find out my buddy has a computer set up and the only thing that came up was random misfires but no specific cylinders. oh no worries about all the questions thats how we figure whats next. thanks
Are you still getting the misfire counters? If so that is probably the source of your issue or at least contributing to it. The scanning software should have listed the misfire under pending codes and listed the cylinder. Interesting that it didn't. You can always go to an Advanced Auto and usually they have a decent Actron scanner that will read pending codes properly. Might be worth a try.
It very well could be the battery, but I'd also check that lovely PCV elbow in the PCV plumbing where it connects to the throttle body. Sounds like you have a major vacuum leak.
I would definitely replace the weak battery before throwing any other money at it. I have seen all kinds of weird behavior clear up. Dying batteries can cause voltage fluctuations. That causes the sensors (most are merely variable resistors) to give fluctuating readings - which confuses the heck out of the ECM.

This is super info... and one of the items over looked when trouble shooting...
