cat delete and o2 diverter

cat delete and o2 diverter
Anyone taken the cat or cats out of there truck and put just a muffler with a o2 diverter on. Is there any increase in power with just a muffler. Whats the pros and cons on doing this, my buddy thats worked on cars for a living says that he can take out the cat, put in the o2 diverter so theres no check engine light and pass emissions. My f350 has one big cat on it, it might help out the 351 when I pull trailers. What do you guys think any thoughts, ideas. I would like to do duals out the back. Let me know

On my 96 F150 i put on a off road y pipe and removed the rear cat also. I used mustang mil eliminator for the rear cat and i have no check engine light on. Even thou the trucks fine i think i am going to install a hiflow cat, to do my part i guess, and avoid hastle when its time for a inspection and the tech notices i have no converter
