Last year the heater quit working on our 03 250 diesel. Being it was under warranty we took it in and had the "heater control valve" as they call it replaced.
of course wouldn't you know it that one year later, it's not working again. Now that shes out of warranty its up to me to poke around and see what I can find.
So I have it opened up and here is what it is doing and not.
I have blend control at the actuator. It will switch from floor to defrost with no issues. I have the heater core door open and can feel the air change with the blend door behind the core as I move from cold to hot and back
Ac works great but I can not get any heat it just blows cold. the heater core doesn't get warm at all.
Good question. I have no idea of what it is. It's kind of like oil, but not really. It has more of a mud feel to it. Up until now, everything has been done at the dealer so one would think it would be the correct fluid.
Hmmm, that takes away the easy explanation. Oil-and mud-like. Does it taste more like oil than mud? Just kidding, but i did know an old Alabama boy who would taste fluids. He was a damned good mechanic too, but I never had him teach me his tasting technique.
