Very disappointed in Banks New Intake!

Just got and installed Banks new Ram Air intake and i am not at all impressed. It fit fine but other than that its junk! And the Noise is unbearable! I would have to say it is at least twice as loud as the 6637! And that is what i put back on! Also they will not return it! so im stuck with a over priced POS! I will never buy banks again!

the AFE's big boost is louder then a 6637 as well..just means its getting more air...im fond of my AFE stage 2... 850 cfm of air yet its quite other then whistle out the tail pipe..i dont like the wooshing and chatter noise you get from the open filter when she shifts or you stomp on it...

Most people around here have learned through themselves or others that Banks is not as impressive on our rigs for the price. There are many other products that provide better bang for the buck.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment.

Too bad to hear you don't like it.

I called Banks about 4 years ago about a cold air intake. They told me there was no market for the 99-03 trucks! I couldn't believe it then, and I couldn't believe they waited this long to introduce one. IMO the missed the game!

I figured that a closed intake system would be quiter then the 6637 but its not. it was louder all around. Drone was worse and whistle was way worse. Plus you have to use the factory air box snorkle and the AIS one isn't the same so it didn't fit! For the price of this kit you think it would come with its own snorkle. Just not impressed at all! Plus the filterminder was sucked plumb shut! And they claim it flows more air. I don't think so. Just more of Banks snake oil that i bought!

What you said.............................................. ............I will never use an open filter again. Using this truck for what it was built for will drive you freaking crazy with an open filter.

I love mine too. I dont think mine is excessively loud, one way im going to fix the loudness is with some dynomat.

Also, there is a reason why many of us DO NOT recommend Banks products!!!! They may look good, but alot of times people are disappointed, because they shop from magazines, or are too stubborn to listen to the folks on these websites, This is in noway directed towards the OP, just making a general statement
