1948-51 F-3 Running Board

need a driver side running board for my 49 F-3 restoration to be close to complete. as a follow on question... if I can't find one - has anyone had success cutting and welding 2 of the more common F-1 running boards into one longer one?

It's not as easy as that sounds. Because the rear fender is narrower and the box is wider on the F-2 and 3 than the F-1, the entire back portion of the running board is a totally different shape. The longer running board shouldn't be that rare. You've got 2 models available that they came from. The hard part will be finding one in decent shape.

Thats what I was wondering. The concept seemed a little too easy to be true. Not so easy to come by. Lots of F-1 running boards but few f-2 plus sized running boards

Not sure where you live, but in my neighborhood, whenever these old trucks come up for sale, it seems like ten to one it's an F 2 or 3 over a 1.
