Does anyone have dimensions for a pallet to hold a 6.9. you know where all the motor mounts will be. I might be buying an engine and need something to bring it home on. I have access to boat motor pallets so i figure i'll mod one of those, or just build from scratch.
I have a 7.3 sorta mounted on a pallet if you wanted to take some measurements yourself.
The bolt size might depend on where on the engine you place the bolts. What I did was use a couple 4x4's with a piece of metal bolted to the top, the metal then bends to where it can bolt onto the motor mount. Then a couple 2x4's propped under the back, and a ratchet strap on each side.
Ha ha, well i don't have any big tires, and i might be doing a few things to make the engine better/sexy, so i want more access that i think a tire might not provide.
But hows this sound for a deal, 350 bucks for an 87 with 77,000 orig miles, might not be as good as they guy is saying it is but but It's definitely worth a look i think
As part of an answer, the rear of the block uses 1/2 inch coarse threads. If ya need any exact dimensions, I can measure the one I have on the stand pretty easy and let you know.
