300 stalls while accelerating, cold weather, bumps, etc.
I have a 1976 F-150 with a 300, Offenhauser intake, Holley 390 4V, open element K&N, Dual exhaust, Dynomax mufflers, aftermarket oil-bath coil (can't remember brand), stock cam, original OEM regulator, alternator, etc., c-4 transmission.
My question: The truck stalls on moderate acceleration, or going up hill, usually when hitting a slight to moderate bump, and definately more in colder weather; what is going on? It doesn't stall on first acceleration (power valve/accelerator pump), but rather with constant pressure on the accelerator pedal after initial depression of pedal. It also seems to be more of a problem after the truck warms up--but again, only in cold weather. Any help would be greatly appreciated. To correct, I have to bump the starter while still coasting in "Drive". I can't imagine that is good for the bendix.
Much thanks to the Administrators and Moderators for this site! You guys are great.
