Thanks Grubworm,
I'm sure I'll be finding this forum invaluable for parts, information, technical stuff, etc. Like I mentioned in my original post I've already found parts. Looking forward for what else I learn and discover here at FTE. Plan to be a regular participant.

Replaced all the u-joints in my front and rear driveshafts in preparation for swapping my 4wd tranny/t-case and front end in.

Found the damn egr pipe in the denis carpenter catalog after months of searching junk yards too bad I have already installed a rusty one.

Temps were finally good for a change so I went to the junkyard today. Pulled some misc. odds and ends that I had been looking for. Scored a very nice instrument trim panel. The only problem is that the faux wood trim does not match what I already have. I think I have what is called burlwood and the panel looks like what was in my Dad's '83 F250 diesel. I really only need the turn signal "arrows" out of it as mine are broken. Did not appear to difficult to pull those out and swap them over. Might just have to heat stake them in somehow. The yard only had two '80 to '86 F-series so I did not get everything on my list. Unfortunately one of the trucks was a base model and only had the black gauge cluster trim. But I only paid $20 for several odds and ends so I think I did ok.

Reinstalled the factory radio. Now we have tunes in the wood truck!!!

By the way, my daily driver is a 95 Nissan pickup. The last few weeks I have been battling a no-start problem. I went to a Nissan Enthusiasts Forum for advice and that place was horrible. I only got two replies and one of those was agreeing with the other one. Neither one was correct. Love this place, you guys are always quick with the help, even for us dummies.

Thought about how the weather is getting warmer and its time to start working on the truck again. I found these pictures on my computer today, this was my parts truck back home in Massachusetts, and then it towing my original truck out to Texas.

Well lets see. Last weekend I went to replace my rear grease and found out that I needed new rear wheel bearings. Then went to auto parts store to order the wheel bearings and some new drums, shoes, spring and adjuster kits, and also orders a carb and turn signal switch. yesterday got around to dropping off my axles off at a shop to have the new bears pressed onto the exals( still waiting on the call to let me know they are done). Installed new carb. replaced valve cover gasket and did some body work. Today I am going to install my turn signal switch and hang new exhaust with a new super 44 searies flowmaster muffler. My work is never done but it sure is fun.

I took my rusty bed off today! I think the truck looks awesome without a bed! I will post some pics later.

Just came in from putting on my near new set of tires & it looks pretty good. First time since I have owned it that it had a matching set of really good tires. Raised letters look nice too.

Okiepc1 - Those the 205's? Bet they look good.

ctubutis - Your statement implies that there are some times when we aren't dummies. I beg to differ as that doesn't seem to happen to me.

xjpilot - Nice set of shots of your truck. Cute. But, who is the space monster driving your truck?

Gary Lewis, ya those new 205s stand as tall or taller than the worn out 225s. While changing tires out I found 1 bad lower ball joint & a couple lose tie rod ends, will replace those next week in between computer jobs.

Did a compression test on my truck today. Got 140 on all cylinders except for cylinder 5 I believe, which was 145. Thought that was pretty good. Now having to deal with brake issues all over. Looks like I am going have almost all new brakes soon.
