Front Driveshaft Disassembly
I have the front driveshaft out of my 79 F150 and want to inspect the splines on the shaft. However I cannot figure out how the two halves of the driveshaft come apart. I have checked in the Haynes manual and it does not tell or show how it comes apart.
So my question is does this driveshaft come apart and if so How?

i THINK that at the end of the splines (on the side that slips over the other there is a cap that needs to be unscrewed. then it should just slip apart.be warned that that cap is usually extremely tight.
again i think thats how it is. its been a long time since ive paid attention to the splines on my shafts other than to grease them
