I have yet to find a straight answer. There are two hoses coming from my firewall and I'm not sure which to choose to place the tee. I know you're NOT supposed to pick the hose connected to the water pump, but I can't tell where the water pump is located. Since I have a 50/50 shot here, should I splice into hose #2, the one on the right??
I didnt use the tee at all. I drained the radiator down, filled with water, added the bottle of flush stuff and let it run for 30 minutes. Drained it down again, pulled thermostat out, put the t-stat with hose back and the disconnected the upper hose where it goes into the radiator. Put the water hose in the degas bottle, started it and let run until clear water started coming out the upper hose. Put it all back together and fill.
I put the T on pipe #2. Flushed per the back side instructions, replaced Tstat using MotorCraft part and have no problems at all. The Tstat I bought from Autozone had a wrong sized gasket so I just went to the dealer. If you ask, they'll give you a customer 10% most of the time. Any little bit helps in this economy.

Did you also remove the block plugs in back of the block, accessed from underneath the vehicle, uses a hex driver to remove it? You'd be surprised how much crap settles back there that can't be flushed completely without opening those. After you drain it dry, replace the plugs with a little bit of red thread-lock on the threads.
