You can also get them in a Sylvania Silverstar Ultra and they are a definite difference. I'm thinking it was a different number than what you posted due to a difference in the electrical connector, but basically the same thing.

....or you can go to ddmtuning.com and get some HID's for 25.00! That is not a mistake. I outfitted my entire truck (headlights and fog) with HID's for 65.00 delivered. This company is based out of San Diego CA and they manufacture and ship their own stuff. It is high quality stuff and ALL PLUG AND PLAY...no splicing

Now before someone starts a debate that our trucks aren't set up for these lights blah blah blah.....I ride on 37's and adjusted them on dark roads for 2 days...I do not blind people. I do not run the fogs and headlamps together unless offroad...way to bright

I was stupid enough to spend 70.00 on sylvania bulbs and they were an improvement, but what a ripoff compared to JUST the headlamps alone are brighter than all four sylvania bulbs on and that is with just the 35W ballast...they have a 55W but I thought that would be too intense

How long have you had the lights? Do they produce a lot more heat, its my luck it would melt somthing and I would end up spending hundreds. How about a pic?

foul1,

I have had the lights for a month. No more heat production than the OEM. The company recommends ONLY a 35W ballast for the fogs or any small encasement because of that potential. The 35W ballast are VERY POWERFUL and IMO all you need. The 55W would be nice if you spent alot of time offroad etc.

They have a wide spectrum of colors from 3k-12k with 3 being white and it moving to purple as it goes up. The number does not dictate the intensity, just the color...the ballast rating dictates the output power.

I opted for 8k which is a little blue but since I drove my wife's car after I swapped her OEM HID's with that color, I really liked the non blinding , easy on the eyes hue it produced and the lighting path is unmatched with HID's.

Some people say 8k is for rice burners etc.....I personally like the color. No pics but I'll see what I can do.

I think I'm going to do this same thing as soon as I get my 05-07 headlights. But according to DDM, if you go with the 55W then 8k is about the same as 6k with the 35W. Do you know anything about this? Cause I like more of the 6k color with the 35W ballast, but I think I'm going to use the 55W ballast in my headlights.

Oh, and what type of bulb does the fogs take?

You are correct in regards to the light color being more intense and higher on the white scale with the 55W ballast. I have a 2004 so I bought 9007 for the headlamps and H10 for the fog lamps.....make sure on the fog lamp bulb I'd hate to give you the wrong bulb for the fogs.

I think you're correct with the fogs. The number advance auto gives you is 9145 I think. But whatever it was converted to a H10.

But I have this question about the light color. Do the 55W ballasts make the light move farther down the spectrum, or just move closer in towards what. What I mean is, if I get the 6k bulbs in the 55W ballast, would it look like a 4k bulb, or would it look just as much like a 6k as the 8k would? I just know I want my light to be as white as possible.

if you go to DDMtuning.com's website they actually have a comparison (color graph) of the 35W and 55W light color difference compared next to one another. My 8k with the 35W bulbs is pretty accurate to the color depiction in the graph....check it out.

Hindsight, I did not get the 9007 hi/lo bulb for 20.00 that replaces the main headlight so I do not have BRIGHTS.......I might get them and keep the others as emergency spares....something to think about.

Where did you see the side-by-side comparison? I can't find it.

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

scroll down under the picture of the kit and you'll see some tabs....go to bulb color

It looks like a 5k or 6k with the 55W is what you want.....probably going to be as bright as the sun!

No problem....remember if you want brights get the hi/low bulb....if you do let me know if they are true brights and activated by the turn signal lever...deal?
