79 f-100,Fuel tank was allmost empty, put in a 1/4 tank for a short trip before storing it for a few weeks. Start engine, guage shows 1/4, drive one mile ,drops to empty. Shut engine off on the move and restart, guage goes to 1/4 again. Drive a short distance, same thing happens again. restart ,okay for awhile. stop and put in another 1/4, making it show 1/2. Same thing again. Restarting's starting to get to me ,L.O.L. What do you guys think ? I'm getting ready to pull the engine and make a few changes in the truck , so I thought I better get that fixed while I am at it. If it's a bad ground , where should I look first ? thanks JIM
I probably wouldn`t be running that truck with its current fuel it the truck is now just starting to shut off like that after pulling it out of storage, just incase the fuel is going bad. For the wire I would check where it comes out of the cab on the front driver side and follow it back the wire loom on the frame. The wire, if memory serves me right is orange. Good luck

I will check that place first. I'm not taking it out of storage, been driving it for about six months, I'm putting it in storage to work on this winter. Nothing wrong with the gas, just never wanted very much in the tank while it sits.I guess I can drain that out and put it in my tractor, then start out with new when I get it going again. Thanks JIM
