Quick joke for today..
A quick joke I got in email. Hope it isn't too much for the board.
The Iraqi ambassador to the UN has just finished giving a speech and walks out into the lobby where he meets President Bush.
Thay shake hands and as they walk the Iraqi says, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America."
President Bush asks, "Well, anything I can do to help?"
The Iraqi whispers "My son watches this show 'StarTrek' and in it there are Russians, Blacks and Asians, but never any Arabs. Why are there never any Arabs in Star Trek? I'm very upset about this. I don't understand it!"
President Bush laughs and leaning toward the Iraqi, whispers,
"It's because the show takes place in the future."

Personally, I think racist jokes are juvenile at best. This same 'joke' circulated during the first Bush administration, and I heard it said, but with Indians (as in Native Americans) as the race of people successfully exterminated in the future, as a teen in the sixties. Same ol' stuff, over and over. Sigh. Just my nickle's worth.

It would be better if I had a religion that taught murderering as a gateway to heaven and virgins? People get the respect they deserve.

Nothing like genocide and religious bigotry for gaining respect, you betcha. There is always that other religion of middle eastern origin, you know, the one with all that don't judge least you be judged, love your neighbor, do unto others so on and so forth. Very popular religion.

Love your neighbor while he gasses his own people, rapes your wife and kills your family? You can keep your view of organized religion. The Chaplain’s in the service don't agree with you and neither do I.

97Ranger, makes you wonder what in the hell is wrong with some of the people in the country, doesn't it? A very close friend lost her fiancee in building 2 (NYPD) and a day later, I see on the news, people dancing in the streets right here in our country. Talk about feeling disgusted.
