Put my winter tires on my winter rims today. Polished them up and am ready when the snow comes. I hope to get another summer out of my regular tires but they would have been useless in snow.
They are manufactured by Kelly Tires.
Nice. What did you chuck for them? I'm in need of new rubber, but I'm going to chince out as much as possible cause I don't plan on keeping the truck much longer...
All said and done it was $556 my cost. At suggested retail would be over $1000. Blizzaks and X-ice would be in the $1200 range cost. I only have 255/70R16 and would hate to see the price on 17+ tires.
I thought about studding them but the slight increased traction vs noise wasn't quite worth it plus it is also about $100 to get four tires done. We don't have the tool at work.
My truck is 4wd and has limited slip in the rear. Last winter my truck with regular tires was better than my car was with winter tires.
Slight increased traction? Theres actually a huge improvement when you stud a tire, on the right surfaces! Ive installed millions of studs, and it is a pain in the *** to do!
I wouldnt pay 100 bucks to get em done either though, thats just too much!
