after the badgering I got from everyone about putting a sbc in my merc I was over a a buddies place the other day and he said i could have this old 3/4 ton behind his shop. Opened the hood and there sat the biggest, greasiest 460 that i have ever seen. Ran last year before parked and I got it for the enormous price of $0. So you guys can all be happy that im now putting a ford in my mercury
so if anyone wants whats left of the truck 76 f250 4 spd, not bad grille surround, good hood and windshield, doors not bad but floors are gone and the box sides have typical rust, they can have it once i remove the motor
id be interested in that C6 you got Sheldon, the C4 i have isnt beefy enough for the big block, plus i have the sbc and 700r4 i wont be using. ive kinda ran the numbers and for that year the hp range for the 460 is 200-280. its too bad it isnt a pre 73 then it be 300-380. Im also looking at scrapping the camaro clip in favor of an after market MII IFS, it will make my whole life easier than trying to make the other one work (its possible but may end up being too much headache). Im also still looking for an LS 9" rear but i have to measure to find out my width yet
On an unrealted topic, Keith Lee of Jitney Auto Parts (international flathead dealer) asked me to do all his polishing so looks like the next person who buys a polished intake or something like that it will be all polished up by me :P
im not building a hybrid here, im building a neck snapping, gas guzzling, fuel hungry monster. This car is gonna eat Hondas and pick its teeth with Toyotas and wipe its mouth with Mazdas all while looking badass. So what if i can only drive from gas station to gas station ;P
