bout to start any tips

Hi new to the forum, but not to Ford trucks,
bout to start a 2wd to 4wd conversion, bought a 1982 F100 2wd 300 six 3speed with overdrive, swb a little over a week ago now has 820152 miles, also just bought a 1980 F150 4wd granny low 4speed ( blown up 302, rusted out and beat up, but fresh rebuilt front axle) plan to swap TTB front axle, 4speed+transfer case and rear axle.
Any tips or problems to look for, have owned a 1983 F150 LWB 300 six 4speed 2wd bought new in 83, and a 1986 F150 LWB 302 fi 4speed 4wd traded the 83 in and sold the 86 in 2000 to buy a super duty V10 5speed 4wd (should have kept the 86)

I am about to start this same journey. Not sure if I should just put my engine into the other truck and call it a day. It (the one with 4 wheel) has body and electrical issues not sure if I want to deal with them. I will share anything I find out in the swap, hopefully someone else has some experience in this they would like to share.

I have found this discussion that I think will help both of us:

different year, but mostly the same stuff:

well one miscalculation so far, i am going to have to grind or cut the rivets to the rear spring mounts and transfer to the F100 frame the F150s are 3 1/2 where the 100s are 3 inch wide,
because i plan to use this truck to haul wood this winter I am going to plan a long weekend with help or postpone the swap, i did get the trans (t 18) and transfer case out, cleaned up and inspected, it just needs a fluid refill and ready to go, may take the rear diff out from the F150 and have it inspected yoke feels a little loose to me, might even have the f100 drive shaft shortened and run the 4speed and transfer case with the F100 rear end till i can make the swap, this 3 speed is so sloppy its hard to find the holes.
