First drive!

I got my shift linkage adjusted (rebuilt transmission after buying truck), and drove it around the block for the first time today! Going to get tires on it tomorrow. Then, after I pick up a bumper to replace the 2x10 the old farmer had on the front next weekend, she'll be on the road!

Question for those who've had these trucks long enough to have actually driven one: Should a 74 F-100 w/ a 302 be a bit of a dog when accelerating, or is it just that my (stock 2150) carb needs fine tuning? (Rebuilt it, but haven't dialed things in beyond putting 'em at the reference/baseline points when assembling) If the former, would you expect intake/4bbl carb alone to make much difference, or are different heads required to see much benefit from that upgrade?

Thanks!

Rear end gear ratio makes a difference. However, I've driven several trucks with 302's in them. None of them were overly impressive.

1.21 venturi size, and according to the door tag, a 3.25 rear end ratio ...
