Hey guys would like your opinions i have a 05 f250 4x4 cc.Well it just started making this thunk or thump noise wondering what it might be?Truck drives fine no vibrartion at highways speeds the reason i say that is i was thinking maybe a u joint but i don't think it is.Here is what it does everytime i stop at a stop light and push the gas to go i feel a thunk in my drivers seat.So i am like like well lets try this the light turns green and i just let off the brake and don't push the gas and truck starts moving with no thunk.So i am like ok do it again and same thing but as soon as i push the gas pedal there is the thunk again and it is driving me crazy.lol.I just seen another thread on here on a 2010 sounded like kind of the same thing with having to grease the yoke or something you guys think this might be what's wrong with mine?Cause i just called the ford dealer to take it in saturday and it is 88 bucks to diagnose the problem and if i have them fix it they will apply the 88 bucks to whatever needs to be done so any help would be appreciated.Oh and the truck has 120,000 miles on here.

 

When my F250 was clunking like that the lower ball joints had worn out. I ended up replacing them all as the tops were also worn.

 

Het thanks for the info how much do you think it would cost for lowers and uppers at a ford dealer?If that what it is?

 

drive shaft slip joint needs regreasing..

 

I did my own but I imagine it will be an expensive job at the dealer. If you can feel the clunk under the floor it will be the ball joints.

 

I had a thunk on acceleration on the passenger side recently. Started checking out the suspension and noticed the bushing had fallen out of the top mount on the shock!
