I know red light to red light is kid stuff but you have to admit . You want something that has some quickness . And I know its a SLUG lol . I just hate seeing the times are so SLOW for the FORD HD TRUCKS , as for the new F150 5.0 6.2L an the 3.5EB are very Quick from the times I ve seen .
I just want to know that I can get off the entrance ramp into traffic on the Expressway when my 4000# plus truck camper is in the bed. Having decent mpg on the expressway would be nice to. If it does this and is reliable I have gotten 100% of what I need from the truck. I really dont care who's quicker, anyone racing around in these heavy trucks is a danger to others on the road.
I get what you're saying, Reaver, but you have to remember that the SDs are made with a different focus from a half ton.
F150s are made to do amazing things, but they also have to be able to be comfortable daily drivers with good road manners and fuel economy. These trucks are over a thousand pounds lighter than our SDs, have far better handling, and can have even more power than a super duty.
It all comes down to power to weight, and the more weight you are trying to move the harder it is to get it to go fast.
My 8,000 lb, 400 HP Super Duty can't even beat a V6 Mustang. My 500 lb, 165 HP motorcycle is quicker through the quarter mile than a 1,600 HP Bugatti Veyron.
If you want a fast truck, see about stuffing that 6.2L engine into a Ranger or something...
It's an '08 Suzuki B-King, the naked clone to the Hayabusa.
It's supposedly good for 10.1" 1/4 mile and cost me less than $10K brand new. Bikes are relatively easy to make REALLY fast due to the high power to weight ratio.
I'm familiar with the B-King. I had an 06 Busa, and just sold my 00 ZX12R in June of this year. With all of these bikes; now we are talking about speed!

You would be the first! Seems like nobody has ever heard of the King, so I've gotten used to explaining...
My bike is why I could care less how fast my truck is. If anyone wants to race I just relax and smile, knowing I have something in the garage that would make their head spin...
Ummmm are we really discussing this considering all the quarter mile times are withing 0.6 seconds, and all 0-60 times are within 1.5 seconds.
U wanna go fast and wax the standard Chevy man, put a Tuner in, void your warranty, and have fun. If you wanna real wax the Chevy, ride your bike as stated above.
I will say Im running a tuner in my 2005 6.0, I'd dare for any Dmax to pull up and drag me. The thing is borderline insane in Street Performance mode. Only once have I stomped on it from 0-60, and it broke the tires loose shifting into 2nd. So blah blah, my truck is faster than your truck. Who cares!
Like stated above, the Super Duty's do the best job for carrying heavy loads and hauling. I drove a 6.2 gasser last week, and I thought it was very comparable in power to the 6.0 Diesel besides the bottom off the line power (just because in needs to rev to have the same power). With Diesel being always higher than gas in my area these days, 30 to 40 cents all year! I'm probably going to go with a 6.2 with 4.30 gearing. Plus you can buy alot of gas for 7K !!
Just my two cents worth, but that's what the fourms for right?!
Guys, forget empty 0-60 times, here is where the 6.2L really outshined them all! It's made to pull! Here's a link from the same shootout with the 7% and 16% grade pulls with 10k behind it. It pretty much smoked the other two! 2010 HD 16 Percent Hill Climb Test - PickupTrucks.com Special Reports
I dont think the OP said he wanted to be FAST... he just wants to be faster than the competition. Whats wrong with that? Even if its a slow race, its always nice to have a stronger faster truck than the competiter.
lol...my 5.4 raptor beat a 6.2 raptor from one traffic light to the next about 1/2 mile..very unusal for both trucks to be at the same light....however, i do have a cai and a 3in exhaust from engine to the end.maybe that made a difference..
