I have a couple of questions about my 351M. I noticed that when I tore it apart, I saw this little stud sensor type thing on the engine, sort of like a coolant temperature sensor with a small screw stud for like a 5/16" nut for a small wire to go onto. Just curious as to what it is. It is on front of the engine beside the timing plate.
The other question I have is in regards to the water pump and thermostat housing. I noticed that both the waterpump and thermostat housing have a set of vaccuum line nipples on them. I don't plan on putting any of the emission control stuff back on the 351M. Could I just buy one of those plugs with a hex head on it and install it in its place to cover the hole?
It should be the temp sensor. And as far as the other thing goes, I have one on mine I think thats the same, and its just unhooked from everything. Post pictures though to confirm.
