The problem is that when we do not shut the door all the way the batt will die what might be the cause to this prob. Please help this is my daughters truck. We just had the whole dash apart replacing the heater core. Any info will be gretly appreciated
Am I reading this right? If you don't shut the "drivers" door properly? The door will be ajar and the interior lite will be left on effectively killing the battery.

Shut the door!
If it still goes dead,,,test the battery.
A door left unclosed fully, will keep the interior lights on.
But, there is a timer function that will turn them off.
This feature may not be on all years.
Battery drain needs to be fully investigated and not always try relate it to only the work just done.
Reasons: the alternator may have a shorted diode stack, the regulator may be faulty or there may be some other drain unaccounted for.
Have the battery tested for load capacity.
Winter is coming, you need everything in first class condition in very cold climates.
