I had a Husky like that once. I was on the back steps, had him on a leash. I was fumbling with my key trying to unlock the door when a cat ran by. Next thing I remember I was on the ground at the bottom of the steps with a broken wrist and a broken nose...

Years ago, we had an English Mastiff/Rottweiler mix. One day, I was inside working on something and I happened to look out the window to see Kyle (the dog) running down the road, dragging my wife behind him - she was frantically holding onto his chain and digging her heels into the gravel to try and slow him down...

This is the same dog that tore down the corner of our garage and stretched every link in his choke collar so that they were no longer round, but oval...

He had the body of a Great Dane, the coloring of an English Mastiff and the "blue eye" trait of the Rottweiler.

I punched him once (I was drunk and he pissed me off) - hit him on the top of the head - it felt like I had just punched a steel girder - hurt like hell - didn't phase the dog one bit... Found out later Mastiff breeds like to headbutt things (ever seen the movie "Turner & Hooch"?)

He got loose once while trying to go after a smaller dog - He was attached to a tow chain and he was dragging it up and down the road with me running behind him trying to stop him. The chain eventually got wrapped around a car tire - stopped him cold - I thanked the driver of the car for stopping my dog lol...

And now - for the truly frightening thing:

We had another dog - an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She and Kyle had puppies... Yeah, those were the most musclebound puppies I'd ever seen in my life...

I don't think we have any pictures of them, but they strongly resembled the Bandog...
