I 've refinished the headliner and other interior panels the way I want. Headliner installation seems a standard 5 handed monkey, but looking in the shop manual, I see that the bottom edge of the panels under the rear window should screw in about 3 places per half panel where the panel meets the floor.
The Cruiser has no obvious metal to receive those screws. Rear of cab floor ends with a small 'box' channel, the back edge of which goes into the abyss at rear of the cab.
It looks like the panel edge would have to sit right on top of that box channel to have the panels about the same distance from the rear cab wall as it will be at the top near the window.
Am I right here? If so, it looks like I'll have to fab a light guage angle and screw it to the top of that box channel to give me something to screw into.
My panels at the rear window go clear down to the bottom of the cab corners. From what I see in the manual it looks likes the original panels stopped at the bottom of the window? Wish I could help but I dont believe mine is stock
These panels I got at Carpenter do seem to 'step up' at the rear corners behind the doors, but drop down futher in the center of the cab where they meet some part of the floor and have the multiple screw holes.
So another way to restate this question is whether the panels screw into the box channel itself, meeting the bottom of the floor, or whether they rest 'on top' of that box channel, closer to the rear wall?
