is this possible...?

i own a 98 explorer and just recently got it. I just had my first view of the inside of a 98 eddie bauer explorer and loved it. Can i but the center console part with the system check and display screen on ebay and install it in my explorer? is the wiering already there like it is for the cd changer in the armrest. another one is about the heat and AC controls. Can i do a replacement of is there alot of wiering needed?

Ive been wanting to do the same thing. I already installed seats from a 98 Limited in my X, but not the console or the ac controls. Let me know if you find something out.

I do not believe any of the wiring for the console accessories are pre-run. I think you would have to buy the harnesses and sensors (for the console control center) separately. For the a/c and heat to work, you will probably have to run the air ducts also for the vents. If you buy a factory CD changer, it may come with the wiring for it.

Check EBay for the consoles. I have seen them sold on there numerous times...
