Cam shaft sensor Code 0340 HELP

Hello first time on website.

I put new gaskets on my upper intake (plenum). the 0171 codes are gone but now I have the o340 cam shaft censor codes. When I fired up my engine after doing the plenum gasket procedure I put a wire on the wrong plug and it misfired. Can that cause the sensor to go bad? Do I need to reset the sensor? If so how? The engine is an 4.0 OHV.

P.S Where is the sensor on this engine?

Welcome to the forum!

What year is your Explorer? Putting a plug wire on the wrong plug should not cause a CMP sensor code.

The cam shaft sensor is just below the coil pack, you might have pinched/disturbed a wire..
