Chase,

Sometimes I just get up in the morning and I'm wacky all day. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often enough.

I'm almost positive that I read about an adjustable high idle mod. Had to do with splicing a resistor and a pot into the TPS harness. It is certainly doable. I'm gonna look around and see if I can find it.

While I'm looking around think about this.

1. A switch and/or relay to emulate the closing of the IVS
2. A pot to vary the TPS ref volts so the PCM thinks the pedal is being pushed.

The TPS/IVS does it all with just 5 wires so it can't be that complicated.

Hell, that didn't take long. I knew it was here somewhere. How to High Idle Mod by Strokerace In post #10 Strokerace added Pics.

It's also called the AIC (Aux Idle Control) Mod. Some of you guys remember now don't ya.

FYI: This is the search string I used in Google> "AIC MOD" site:ford-trucks.com/forums Google does it better and faster then the search engine on this forum.

Sounds like it would be much easier to just get a high idle tune. I dont know about you guys, but when I start my truck on cold mornings like today, it will run at a normal idle for a minute or so, then kick up the idle and keep it there until I hope in and tap the brake. I thought this was standard.

I'm glad you were able to take the time to find it, I was going to but never got to it. You get a pat on the back AND a gold star!
