The 351M and 400 use a different harmonic balancer because the balancing weights are different (they do use the same flywheel, though-go figure). I would bet the C is different (even if it were to physically fit), but I don't really know.
i've been operating under the belief that C,M,and 400 balancers all interchange. some are thicker than others, but still interchange. i am wondering though, did any engines ever get a drivers side timing pointer? or has one of my balancers spun?
Well, maybe they do interchange- maybe someone who knows better can reply. I thought that I heard that they were not interchangeable, but maybe they are different but still interchangeable. I've got a C, M, and 400 in my garage right now, but it may be a subtle difference between them that I won't be able to see from the front side. I've never seen a pointer on the other side- maybe the key is missing, or you have the wrong part entirely.

i think all 400 351m,s are all passenger side pointer never saw a driver side pointer unless someone cobbed one on the driver side
