I have a 2011 F250 and when towing I get a strong vibration at start through about 25 mph. My dealer say's there is nothing than can be done, anyone have this type of issue? If so is there a solution?
Go to another dealer. Shudder while taking off (especially when towing or hauling) is a fairly common problem, usually solved by shimming the carrier bearing.
There is a TSB on it, viewable here, although not sure if it applies to the 2011 models:
yup, when towing fairly heavy or full throttle take-off situations your drive line angle changes causing this.
If it is really consistent shim the carrier bearing as Redford suggests. Usually your local 4x4 shop will have a spare shim they may just give you to do the job. You don't need much, no more than 1" and see how she does.
It may depend on the amount of shim. I would start with a 1/2" inch shim. Demand that the dealer take care of this. If not call around to another dealer. It's a pretty easy and cheap job and shouldn't take you all of a 1/2 hour and i would only do this if you get continued aggrivation from the dealers.
You shouldn't notice any vibration with the 1/2" shim unloaded.
