how deep?

looking at installing a double din (I know I will have to do some cutting to fit) DVD/GPS in my 1999 expedition and I know it will fit width and height wise but wondering about deep wise the one I am looking at is 7" deep. Will it fit?

I have a double din clarion in my 99 Navi and it fits just fine.

I'm looking at a sony double din for my 99 expy. Does anyone know how well 26's fit on an expy they would have 305/30/r26 tires?
