I'm going to try and install an emergency brake cable tomorrow on a 96 bronco. The cable originally broke from the furthest forward point (at the pedal). I have the cable fitted already and the parking brake has already been bolted back to the kick panel. I am having trouble getting the cable to attach to the metal bracket, directly under the driver door, where it meets the two individual cables. I have tried mechanical devices to try and stretch it into place but it gets so tight it feels like the cable is going to break.
Whats the trick? I couldnt find any pieces along the way that are adjustable. Do I have to completly disassemble both rear brakes to attach the cable? If so, will that make putting the brakes together difficult? I tried searching a bit but with obviously no luck. Thanks in advance.
