Well today I cleaned of the under side of the truck today after I had a o ring on the turbo go bad. So I cleaned everywhere under the truck off with simple green so everything was all clean. So I get home and look and see a little wet stuff on the inspection plate and I put my finger to it and its red I start the truck up it is dumping out trans fluid out of the inspection cover. So I pop it off and this is what I see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY8K93XS69c
Any suggestions guys? T/C seal, T/C, trans seal? Throw some stuff out there for me. Thanks
Looks just like mine when the TC decided to destroy itself. The TC itself wasn't cracked that I know of, unless it was near the snout. It almost looks like the front seal had gone bad in the trans, only upon removal the TC sounded like a box of rocks rattling around. Ended up with a new trans out of that deal.
Has the leak stopped? Or does it still leak like that?
Mine was fine one minute and the next it was leaking like a sieve. Trans was never any warmer than 190 and only briefly there too.
What did you ever find out about the tranny leak? Mine is doing the exact same thing. On the day I noticed, I drove unloaded about 350 miles, and the same day returned I towed a 6,000# camper. Once home in the driveway, I saw a huge puddle of tranny fluid, gauge never moved, tranny never slipped. Just this mysterious puddle, so I haven't had time to do any investigating yet, just got her parked in the driveway...
