Um, that would be hard to do as they are black painted metal and the markings are painted on a flat surface.
This is possible to do with the 1980-1986 etc, but not the 1973-1979.
There are white covers that I've seen avaliable that goes over the tops of the stock gauges. Most of those were designed for the Econoline, but would work for 1973-1979 F-series as well.
