Head conundrum

Hi guys, I dont post much though Im on every day... Lol i go by the if i dont have good information to add to a subject i dont post. And since im not very informed on stock application fords thats most of the time lol. So i have burned up the search function and done alot of googling, but i figured id throw out a question. Its more of a what would you do than a what should i do. So here it goes, you can get a set of Y303s for 200 bucks do you pick them up and put them on or wait for a set of ported E7s that may or may not show up for the same price?

Well, a little more info is needed, I think.

Have you paid anything for the E7's? Just curious because you kind of make it sound like you did.

But if not, I'd go w/ the Y303's. If they're there, ready to go, and you don't have to do any more work other than install them, there's no reason not to. It's just business- you may've been talking to another guy on the E7's, but a better deal came along and you took the opportunity. If he can't deal with that, it's his problem.

i don't have any experiance with the y303 heads but i would assume that they flow similar to the ported e7 heads, i would get the y303 heads because they have not been ported and in the future you can always port the heads if you are looking for some more power

PS: here is some info that might help you make your choice i havn't looked to see the flow #s on either heads but i'm sure they are there

I didn't figure you had a set of Y303's just lying around, but really this is just a matter of personal choice.

If you really want to keep the factory heads [and I would keep them if I'm not doing a full rebuild] then wait for the E7's. If you are doing a full rebuild or making mods and the Y303's fit your needs better than the E7's, go for it. As Tbird pointed out you can always port the 303's later if you want to.

It's really a matter of what you want and when you want to get it done.

When you said you weren't sure if the E7's were gonna show up, did you ship them out of state to have them worked or something?

No the only E7s I have are on the truck now bone stock. I have access to a set of y303s for 200 bucks. What I was sayin is should I look for ported e7s and if a can find some what's the odds I can find somebody to port them for under 200

GT40Y heads(a.k.a Y303's) flow over 30% percent better than E7's on the intake and exhaust, that's better than even CNC ported E7's can hope for so this is a real no brainer.. grab em and run.

Ok cool that's what I was wondering I didn't know how much better they flowed and if they were worth it or not. Thanks for the info everyone.
