looking for some advice on wheels

i have a 1987 f150 XL 4x4 w/ a 2" body lift on it. i was wondering how big a tire i can go without having any problems with fit. iwas thinking about getting 33x12.5x15, or maybe 32X11.5X15. iwas also wondering if an 8" wide rim is good for that size tire. any advice would be very helpful. thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

8' wide rims are OK for 10.5" tires and probably could work with 11.5" tires. For 12.5" wide tires most manufactures would recommend 9.75" wide or 10" wide rims. The 12.5" wide tires will probably fit in your wheel wells. I have them on my '94 F-250. However, I had to limit the steering a bit. Good Luck!

11.5" tires need a min of 8" max of 10". The 12.5" tire needs 8.5-10" wheels. I have 32's on my 7.5" eddie bauer rims with no problems, just have to run a little bit less air pressure to keep the wear even.

I run 31 x 10.5 -15's on my '82 Bronco. It has such a tight turning radius that I get a tiny bit of rub from the M/S's when I crank it all the way. My mud & snows do have a bit wider tread than my summer tires, which don't give me "the rub".
