Vaughn Gittin Jr. Slides into Carlisle Performance & Style
2011 Formula Drift Champion to Appear and Perform
CARLISLE, PA ““ 2010 Formula Drift Champion and Maryland native Vaughn Gittin Jr. will slide sideways a time or two at Carlisle Performance & Style on Saturday, May 14. The event itself is held May 14 and 15 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.
Gittin will make his inaugural trip to Carlisle for foot-to-the-floor, big smoke and rubber-burning drifting action. As part of the 16th edition of Performance & Style, Gittin will be conducting two drift demonstrations on the Carlisle track as well as signing autographs. Gittin will also host a unique Q&A session on the Manufacturers Midway on Saturday.
In addition to the drift demonstrations, five lucky ride-along give-away winners will climb into the RTR 2011 Ford Mustang and ride side-by-side with Vaughn as he does what he does best: Drift! One of the ride-along winners will be chosen at the show, through a silent auction with the proceeds going to the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief fund.
Gittin, who was recently featured in the April 7 edition of USA Today as well as on MTV’s Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, is the only American to ever win a Division 1 Grand Prix event, not once ““ but twice. He has achieved three wins and multiple podiums throughout his Formula Drift career.
