Top 5 Things We “HATE” About the Second-Generation F-150 Raptor
Truth be told, we love the F-150 Raptor. However, it is not perfect and here are the things that we would change if we could.
We have been huge fans of the F-150 Raptor ever since it was first released. The second-generation Raptor continues our love affair. It is a kick ass truck. I know that of which I speak. The Raptor depicted here is my personal truck. However, if we are honest, it does have some things that annoy us. No vehicle can be perfect. Heck, even the next Bronco that we are all holding our breath for has some weak spots.
The Raptor is currently in a bit of a state of flux. There are a lot of rumors out there about what the next generation Raptor will be like. At this moment all we have to go by are those rumors. Ford has made no formal announcement regarding the specs of the next Raptor. In fact, they have not even confirmed the model, though we highly doubt it will be dropped. So, now is a good time to take another close look at the latest Raptor we have available to us. In so doing, these are our top five pet peeves.
That V6 Sound
The first-generation Raptor was available with either a 5.4L V8 or the brawnier 6.2L V8 engine. They sounded great and were befitting of the image and mission of the Raptor. The second-generation Raptor produces more power. That is good. It uses a twin-turbo V6. That is not so good. At least not from a sound and emotion standpoint. The V6 just sounds weak next to the V8. The big, bulging Raptor should have a V8. The current Raptor has a John Cena body and a Michael Jackson voice. It just doesn’t seem to match up. Please Ford, give us a proper V8 in the next-generation Raptor.
