Salvaged Ford Bronco Badlands

The owner of this Ford Bronco Badlands project can use it as a shortcut to ownership as he waits on his order.

It isn’t uncommon these days to stumble across salvaged vehicle rebuilds, a practice that’s become incredibly popular thanks to internet forums and YouTube, in particular. It’s always interesting to see this process take place for a number of reasons, perhaps because we’re considering tackling one ourselves, or maybe simply because we’re curious to see if it can be done for a reasonable amount of money. Both of those apply to this salvaged Ford Bronco Badlands project taking place at Bronco6G that might also just be the first of its kind.

There are certainly wrecked sixth-generation Broncos out there ripe for the picking, but as far as we know, this is the first time one has been rebuilt and documented online. The motivation behind it is pretty obvious as well – the owner of the Ford Bronco Badlands – Eric – bought it because he’s somewhat tired of waiting for his own order to be fulfilled.

“Just like many of you I still have an order in for my ‘perfect Bronco.’ I actually had two Bronco orders and let my wife get hers first,” Eric said. “My order is for a Base Mansquatch two-door, but I was quick enough on the draw to pick up this totaled Bronco Badlands two-door manual with the Lux Package for $32,695 shipped to my door. Its mileage was 2,127 when it came into my possession. I think it was totaled because every panel has some damage and there are multiple sensors missing/broken that deal with parking, lane keeping, collision avoidance, etc. I am hoping to use FORScan to clear those out permanently.”

The owner later discovered the nature of the accident, which apparently happened when it had a left side impact with another vehicle. However, rather than restore it back to stock, Eric is modifying it along the way, adding a host of upgrades such as aftermarket wheels, lighting, and bumpers while also fixing the accident damage. Thus far, he has spent a grand total of $38,806 on his project, and it will certainly be interesting to see how the reborn SUV turns out in the end.
