2020 Ford F-150

F-150 FX4 and Roush Raptor replace a few members’ previous Ford pickups.

You can save a bundle on a 2020 Ford F-150 if you are in a position to buy right now. Ford is offering incredible deals on new vehicles right now and a few of our members are traded in an older truck for a 2020 model. “JohnDay” started a thread in the 2015+ F150 section showing off his new F-150, which looks a great deal like the truck that he traded in. Later on in the thread, fellow forum member “Wgierczynski” shared his new Roush Raptor, which was also purchased as part of a trade for a slightly older F-150.

2020 F-150 Introduction

When the OP first started his thread, he shared a picture of his 2020 F-150 with his previous truck, followed by a look of the new pickup from every angle.

Yep, turned my ’17 in, and got a special order ’20. I was due in September to turn the leased one in, and a deal I couldn’t reuse on this 2020. Outwardly, Looks the same, but went back to the 5.0 and added 3:73ELD, and FX4. Picked it up 3/13/20, uhuh, Friday the 13th, and was a Friday build.

That front end is begging for some grille work and a level, and….

The F-150 shown here in Rapid Red is the OP’s new truck. Later on in the thread, another member asked if the OP planned to install the exhaust from his previous Ford truck, at which the happy new owner shared his plans.

Thanks Robb, and oh yes it’s supposed to. Have it going back on tomorrow afternoon, already burned in!! Then it’s level and block time, and my Raptor wheels going on in a couple days.

Also picked up a Lariat Sport grille and OEM style black headlights, just waiting for the custom ovals to do the grille work.

The next day, the OP had the exhaust system installed.

Got theBorla put on that I took off the ’17. Sounds a bit different in a very good way, than the same system I had on the ’12 5.0. Don’t know if Borla made changes, or it’s because of the GenII 5.0.

Followed by one more update, including pictures of the F-150 FX4 with some upgrades.

Made some changes to the front, stuck a Lariat Sport grille on, CAW Grille lights, aftermarket SE style heads, removed the airdam. Forgive the filth, when I took the photo, my driveway was a quagmire.

The Roush Swap

During the course of the thread, many members replied with positive input on the new truck, while “Wgierczynski” showed off his own new F-150.

Did the same thing last week. Traded in my 2017 Roush F150 Supercharged for 2020 Roush Raptor.

He went from a white-and-black Roush F-150 to a Roush Raptor, also in white with black trim.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
